How do I maintain my Scooternaut?

If your carpet gets dirty, congratulations: that’s what it’s there for! However, to keep it as clean as possible:

- Shake it ! Until dirt and debris stop coming out of the carpet.
- Vacuum your carpet frequently.
- Water it (from time to time)! You can clean your carpet with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Be sure to test the detergent/water mixture in a small corner of the carpet to make sure it doesn't affect its color. Let the soap sit for a few minutes, then rinse it. Checks if the colors remain unchanged.

If no discoloration is noticed, take your mat into your shower or bathtub! Wet your carpet well. Mix about a teaspoon of the same mild laundry detergent with cold water. Gently lather the soap mixture into the carpet. Let the soap sit on the carpet for 5 minutes, then rinse with plenty of water. Make sure the soap is completely rinsed off and the rinse water is clear.

Unroll the rug and let it dry indoors or outdoors. Avoid direct exposure to intense sunlight. Do not hang or hold the wet mat by the elastic band due to its increased weight. If possible, avoid getting the elastic wet as it takes longer to dry than the mat itself.

Remember: our rugs are printed, so note that the colors may eventually fade. Plus, they're designed to withstand regular use in wet or dry weather. Avoid chemicals.

We have not yet tested our mats with snow/ice salts. We do not recommend parking your wet scooter on the carpet if you know that this type of product has been used in your area, as irreversible discoloration could occur.

We do not recommend machine washing or tumble drying. However, we are still testing our products and will share new tips over time. We have done limited testing with machine washing. The rugs were washed once separately in a 30 minute gentle cold water cycle with a teaspoon of mild detergent. No discoloration was noticed. However, without further testing, use machine wash at your own risk!

In case of heavy snowfall and heavy rain in your area: If your carpet remains systematically wet and does not dry within a few days, avoid using it and let it dry. It is not recommended to leave it damp for long periods of time.

Deliveries: what do you need to know?

How much are the shipping costs?

If the purchase must be delivered to Switzerland: shipping costs are included in the price of the rug.

If the purchase must be delivered outside Switzerland: shipping costs will be added to the cost of the rug and specified before your final purchase agreement.

Do I have to pay import taxes and duties?

If the purchase must be delivered in
Switzerland: VAT is included in the prices indicated.

Scooternaut works within IOSS - "Import One Stop Shop" for the listed European countries we deliver to. This means that the customer will pay us VAT and we will take care of sending it back to the corresponding country. Therefore, no hidden costs are to be expected.

However, some countries may still charge customs duties/fees. These fees may be charged by local authorities via courier or any
other agent designated by the local government. In this case, these costs are at the
responsibility of the customer. It is your responsibility to educate yourself on the amount to pay.
